District Men Meet and Vote in New Officers

On Monday, November 13th, 2017 the South East District United Methodist Men met at the Barbourville 1st United Methodist Church. Host pastor, Bill Hughes, welcomed the men to the meeting and a wonderful dinner was served. After the dinner the men gathered in the church sanctuary. Kevin Rossman presented special music with a Patriotic Medley on the accordion. The business part of the meeting included the election of new officers for 2018. James Jamerson was elected the district President, and Kevin Rossman was elected Vice-President.. Marty Kalz remains our district Treasurer. A letter of thanks to the United Methodist Men from out-going president, Dan Midkiff, was read by Stanley Baker.
During the meeting, Mr. Ed Kruger, Secretary of the Kentucky Conference United Methodist Men brought greetings from the conference.
The guest speaker for the meeting was Retired U.S. Army veteran, Mike Warren. Mr. Warren spoke on the history of Veteran's Day. He honored the more than 431,000 soldiers who have lost their lives in battle since World War I.
Five of the churches in the district were represented at the meeting, along the guest from the Ky. Conference United Methodist Men.
